Volunteer Buffet

Volunteers from the local community are essential to the work and purpose of MAECare. Helping elderly people is an excellent way to use your experience, develop your personal skills and meet new people. There are regular volunteer get-togethers and ongoing support from our Volunteer Co-ordinator.

Can you help with any of these?

  • Friendly Visiting for a housebound person.
  • Giving a senior citizen a lift as a volunteer driver. A mileage allowance and guidance on insurance are available.
  • Helping with the Stroke Club or some other activity group.
  • Giving practical help by keeping a garden tidy for an elderly person or doing small odd jobs for them.
  • Using your experience to serve on a committee.
  • Tutoring Silver Surfers sessions.

If you have some time to spare, please talk to us about how you may be able to help MAECare to make life a little better for local older people.
